Petition Introduce new allergy and anaphylaxis legislation for food/drink vendors
More details
That accurate allergy information for all food and drink products must be labelled on all packets, websites and menus, etc. (An allergy sufferer, for example, cannot walk into Greggs and order food knowing for sure that they will not suffer an allergic reaction or anaphylaxis.
The companies selling the product must be able to assure the consumer for certain that a food product will or will not contain an allergen.
Restaurants and food/drink manufacturers must thoroughly clean utensils, equipment and surfaces if they have come into contact with known allergens. If this is not done and a customer has an allergic or anaphylactic reaction, the restaurant/manufacturer/employee can be charged with manslaughter and forced to cease trading if an allergen is not listed in the menu, website or ingredients list and an allergy sufferer dies from anaphylaxis after consuming the product.
