A Central Bank for the UK or for Britain and Northern Ireland is required to effectively manage the British pound in the 21st century on behalf of the British people who are the guarantors, through their future tax revenues, of their own currency. This central bank will be accountable to the democratically elected representatives of any Scottish parliament and the democratic assemblies of Wales, Northern Ireland and the democratic authorities within each economic region of England can decide to have the central bank accountable to them and/or to the parliament at Westminster.
