Petition Establishment of an elected Yorkshire council with devolved powers from Westminster.
More details
Yorkshire has the same population as Scotland and a larger economy than Wales and yet is still ignored and marginalised by the government in Westminster. It is time the people of Yorkshire had more power over how our county is run and we should have an elected Yorkshire council that holds legeslative power devolved from Westminster.
We want a debate in the house of commons over what powers should be devolved to the new Yorkshire council and a constitutional change granted to allow the creation of such a council.
