Petition Mental Health Services - Funding
More details
Mental health disorders account for 23% of the burden of disease in the UK, yet in 2012 Mental Health care received just 13% of the NHS health expenditure (Centre for Economic Performance, 2012) and since then, mental health trusts in England have had their funding cut by 2% in real terms (BBC News, Dec 2013).
Services are being squeezed more and more and their waiting lists are getting longer and longer. This pressure can be released just a bit, if the Government were to increase spending, even by 1%.
