Rejected petition The UK should switch to Central European Time, with GMT+1 in winter and GMT +2 in summer, to maximise evening daylight.
More details
The UK should adopt Central European Time, which is in use in most countries of central and western Europe. As well as making sense from a business point of view, this will maximise evening daylight, which would benefit the economy in terms of increased tourism and leisure opportunities. It would help to reduse the risk of road accidents, and cut fuel consumption.
