Petition Bring legislation regarding scientific procedures on animals in Scotland under devolved control
More details
Currently animal experimentation in Scotland is a reserved matter controlled by Westminster through The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
Over 600, 000 procedures were carried out on animals in Scotland last year. Over 60% of these included no form of anaesthetic.
Scotland for Animals and the undersigned request that control over legislation regarding this be devolved to the Scottish Parliament via amendment of the Scotland Act or new legislation.
