Internet Speeds throughout the UK are extremely slow compared to other countries in Europe and the rest of the world with similar levels of development. The UK has an average download internet Speed of 29.4Mbps which is one of the slowest in Europe with countries such as The Netherlands (43.9Mbps), Sweden (47.5Mbps), Norway(33.7Mbps), France (33.4Mbps), Romania (56Mbps) and many others having higher average download speeds than the UK.

The government must act before 2030 to significantly increase internet speeds throughout the UK or risk falling even further behind in an ever more evolving internet based economy.
