David Cameron has recently outlined his belief that the UK should mainly teach in imperial units.

Such a move would have a disastrous impact on the UK as internationally all science and engineering is conducted in metric units. A strong basis in understanding of the international system of units (SI) is essential to provide a world-leading knowledge based economy.

Would the HM Government please make a commitment to continue to fully support the metric system in the UK.
