The Department for Transport established a 'green' transport website called Transport Direct in 2004, bringing together information on car, bus, rail and ferry options in the UK, and helping travellers to choose the most appropriate transport mode for their journey. The site closed on 30th September 2014, but I feel it performed a unique role, and should be reinstated and enhanced.
