Petition Royal Prerogative War Powers Deferred to the PEOPLE
More details
I'd like the government to give the Royal Prerogative powers (held by The Queen, used by the Prime Minister) to the people of the UK.
The system is corrupt and the ability to wage war shouldn't be vested in an un-elected monarch, nor should these powers be vested in 650 elected MPs, or de facto one MP, the Prime Minister.
With close to 70 million people in this country, I don't believe that such important decisions should be left down to the 0.0009% of that population that resides in Westminster.
If this country can afford to wage war with Tomahawk missiles costing £850,000-a-pop, then I think the government should re-focus it's attention on the people who elect them and spend that money on domestic needs rather than illegal wars waged by corrupt politicians.
In summary - give the PEOPLE the power of war in a democratic referendum versus the Monarch/Prime Minister holding such important and vital powers to use at their will.
