Many people who are disabled or long term ill simply cannot manage to work full time, If they take a part time position of 16 hours, they are entitled to virtually no benefits and plummet below the poverty line to the extent that they receive less than a person on benefits.
It would benefit millions of people in this situation if the government would make them eligible for working tax credits for 16 hours
