Closed petition Stop Courts giving Concurrent Sentences

Closed on

Concurrent sentences just make a mockery of any justice.
If a criminal has committed a series of offences then they MUST serve a clear tariff period for each and every one of those crimes.
It is an insult to victims to allow the prison terms to be run concurrently. It devalues the whole purpose of any punishment .
If there is a set term for, say, ABH or robbery, then having also committed the same crime upon another person, or the same person, at either the same time or at another time, then there must be a separate term served in prison for each separate crime.

New Sentencing Guidelines must be given to stop Courts giving Concurrent Sentences.
