Closed End of un insured drivers on our roads

Technology is already in place to check card details and scan loyalty cards/vouchers etc on our petrol forecourts.

Bring in a system wherby insurance companies supply a tax disc style barcode to display in car windscreens and has to be scanned at a petrol forecourt before the driver is allowed to get fuel.

What this will do is prevent fuel thefts (drive offs) as the scanner will record car insurance details , reg or driver details and all un insured drivers who equate to a large percentage of drive offs from accidents will soon run out of fuel within a week or so clearing our roads from un insured and un taxed vehicles.
