This e-petition is to get the government to hold a referendum to get the country to have parliamentary primary elections as tested by the Conservative government in past elections (for example Totnes 2009). This would be compulsory for all parties. It is done in the hope that all areas of the country are represented in government and would close the gap between ordinary voters and MP's in parliament.
