Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) comes under the banner of Lung Disease, COPD kills 25,000 people a year in the UK, yet it one of the most unrecognised illnesses within the general public, People with COPD find it difficult to breath, and in many cases are unable to leave their own home, take care of their family, work or socialise. it is an incredibly devastating disease to cope with day to day, but what is most alarming is the lack of public knowledge of COPD nationally, this must change.

The purpose of this e-peition is for parliament to instruct the Department of Health Minister to implement the following

• To improve awareness nationally of COPD
• To improve information nationally about COPD
• Improve support services nationally
• Dedicated local access to support & services
• GP’s only to conduct PIP assessments
• No PIP assessment for COPD stages 3 & 4
• Easier access to health professionals
