Closed Give the Green Party and Respect the same status and UKIP in all television debates

It has been proposed that the leader of UKIP be allowed to participate in one of the pre-election television debates.

As the UK Independence Party only has 1 elected MP, it would be grossly unfair, and a distortion of the democratic process, if the other political parties that have a single MP, such as the Green Party and Respect, are excluded from television debates that UKIP are allowed to participate in.

We call on the Government to include the leaders of the Green Party and Respect in any televised debate in which UKIP has been invited to participate.

This is a democratic country. All of the parties with elected MPs should be allowed equal coverage so the public can decide fairly.
