Rejected petition Employer incentives for creating school term-time jobs
More details
Many parents of school age children would like to work, but, also want to raise their own children and be there for them when they return from school.
The problem they face is they can only work when their children are at school i.e. 9:30am to 3pm and need to take time off for school holidays.
If the government were to provide employers with incentives to employ people with school age children on a part-time term-time basis, many parents would be able to leave the 'benefits trap' and work for a living.
What happens to the work in the school holidays?
A complimentary scheme could be run whereby employers would be given incentives to employ students during the school holidays. This would also have the added benefits of enabling students to reduce their total student debt.
