We the undersigned urge the Department of Health to scrap prescription charges for those suffering from lifelong mental illness.

The current rules for free prescriptions are grossly unfair. Currently the NHS will fund free prescriptions for avoidable conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes whilst those suffering from lifelong conditions such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder are forced to pay for their medication without which they would cost the NHS far more as in-patients.
