That the county of Lancashire be restored to its traditional boundaries for all cultural and ceremonial purposes, and as a geographical term of reference.

That the ceremonial county of Greater Manchester be abolished for the above purposes, and its area divided between the ceremonial counties of Lancashire and Cheshire (except that Saddleworth be attached to Yorkshire for the same purposes).

All the above without prejudice to consideration of changes to any current administrative areas.
