More details
We, the signatories of this petition, call upon our Governement to work with the Royal British Legion, to deliver in the name of our loved ones lost to serving their country in our Armed Forces, to produce a permanent "Sea of Red Poppies" memorial in and around all the monuments at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire.
What is behind this petition; I am a relative of someone who died on the battlefield in the First World War, and have been so deeply moved, and honoured, by the World War 1 memorial - Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red - at The Tower of London, and I feel very strongly, that an installation and memorial of this type and magnitude! Should have a permanent place, as a monument in its own right, and I can think of no better place for it, than at our National Memorial site at Aboretum.
