Her Majesty's Government are to be commended for their recent efforts to allow widows of service personnel to keep their pensions should they become involved in other relationships.
Now is the time for the same to be applied to widows and widowers of Police, Fire, Ambulance and other local government personnel who continue to be financially penalised for finding love and stability in later life.
