It's almost beyond belief in this centenary year, but funding cuts mean that there is a plan to close the Research Library at the Imperial War Memorial, disposing of the books correspondence and the majority of its collection
The Museum’s library gives people access to research materials on all aspects of British and Commonwealth involvement in conflict since 1914.
The IWML provides for the study and understanding of the history of war and ‘the wartime experience' -
It will be impossible to replace this unique collection of materials.
