This e-petition is in place to gain support and put pressure on the government, local authorities and the police to take more proactive action against the ever increasing number of dog thefts which are taking place in the UK.

The signatories of this petition want to see real evidence that all steps are being taken to identify the criminals carrying out these appalling crimes.

We want a task force creating which will consist of national and local government officials, law enforcement authorities and victims of these crimes to create a joined up plan of action.

Dog owners should not live in fear of their beloved dogs being stolen, and this is become increasingly the case.
