I would like to have introduced legislation preventing the sighting of outdoor pig units close to housing. The production of pigs, in temporary outdoor units is a fairly recent practice, and while we understand that this is a great benefit for the welfare of pigs themselves, rules applying to these units are few and far between when concerned with the welfare of the public.
