In recent years there has been more focus on men’s health issues and a greater awareness of the risks of prostate cancer. 1 in 8 men will get the disease and every year 10,000 men will die from it.
Prostate cancer often grows slowly and has a low risk of spreading, but some will have cancer that has a higher risk of spreading faster and requires treatment outside the prostate.
We call on the government to introduce a national prostate screening programme for all men aged over 50.
