We, the undersigned, call upon the government to stop the cycle of educational failure, unemployment and criminality by introducing a minimum educational standard that each pupil should meet at school. We also call upon the government to introduce conscription or compulsory public service for pupils who fail to meet the minimum standards, with a view to giving people who do not meet the standards a chance to learn a trade and do useful work as opposed to simply wasting away on unemployment benefit.
