Petition Day of recognition for the Emergency Services
More details
The Police, as well as the Fire Service and Ambulance service risk and dedicate their lives ensuring that the public is safe.
In some tragic occasions persons in the Emergency have even paid the ultimate price - their lives whilst protecting the public.
On an almost daily basis the Emergency Services are getting slandered by the Press and sadly our Government who should be supporting our Emergency Services, especially true at a time when they are being asked to do more for less.
The Armed Forces already (and rightly so) have days dedicated to the work it's men and women fighting for and defending our Country. It’s time to show support and recognition for the work the Emergency Services do in the same manner that the Armed Forces currently do.
I propose a recognition day celebrating the work of the Emergency Services. Such an event would include a Parade showcasing our Emergency Services; concluded by a speech of recognition from a Senior Member Of Government.
