Petition Those involved with rioting in London and across the UK should be charged under the Terrorism Act 2006

In the last few days, we have witnessed a total disregard for law and order in London and other parts of the UK.

This violence has had an impact on the civil liberties of innocent shops, businesses and ordinary citizens and their normally peaceful and productive way of life.

The Home Office has stated with regards to its Counter Terrorist Strategy (CONTEST) that "The aim of CONTEST is to reduce the risk to the UK and its interests overseas from terrorism, so that people can go about their lives freely and with confidence."

Therefore, we propose that anyone caught participating in rioting and looting on UK soil should be arrested and detained under the Terrorism Act 2006.
