Petition Equal rate of taxation for all earners

I propose that there be a standard, fixed rate of taxation for all earners irrespective of the amount they earn.

There have been many studies that show HMRC would actually find an increase in the amount of taxation collected were they to have a single rate of tax, rather than a tiered rate which is punitive towards the successful and wealthy.

As well as high earners feeling less punished by punitive rates and therefore less likely to spend vast sums of money on tax avoidance, it would encourage an influx of high earners from around Europe and possibly the world to come to the UK and pay their taxes here. Surely that would be beneficial to our economy?
