Closed petition Uphold Regulations regarding Ritual Slaughter.

Closed on

1. The 'Licence of Exemption from Regulations of Normal Livestock Slaughter' dated 23/7/1991 is still active & clearly states... Quote:
It is an offence to Slaughter livestock under the exemption from stunning if it is known that the meat is not intended for the food of Jews & Muslims.
Please enforce the Licence rules & stop the sale of mainstream meat that has not been properly stunned as per the EU WATOK Regulations.
2. EU WATOK Regulations [Welfare of Animals at Time of Killing] were drawn up & became active on 1st Jan 2013 after a Public Consultation to ensure that the Stun given to Livestock is a proper stun that will prevent suffering at the time of sticking & bleeding out.
Please Stop the 'Reversible Stun' that is currently being used by the halal industry.
Legal requirements must be followed regarding the protection of animals at the time of their killing or slaughter. This includes EU Regulation 1099/2009, which replaced Directive 93/119/EC & came effect on 1 Jan 2013.
