Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994
Section 3.Duration of licences.

Proposals:
No VED should be with effect from the beginning of the month in which the licence has effect. It should be from the date of application/payment for the relevant period of 12 or 6 calendar months [or 365/182 days].

Same application for refunds of VED when a vehicle is sold; unused tax should be refunded on a pro rata basis subject to a minimum amount to cover the cost of processing.

The current system is unfair and unjustifiable.
