Closed petition Reduced UK Cost (for Seniors) Rail and Coach Travel
Closed on
Any person holding a Bus Pass should be able to travel on Trains and National coaches for a set reduced fare, where a vehicle has spare capacity after paying customers have taken priority.
An example being :-
Up to 50 miles = £3 ...Up to 100 miles = £5.
Above 100 miles = £8.
This will help to fill empty seats, help reduce carbon emmisions by reducing car journeys and by visiting Family and friends lead to a healthier life (at reduced health costs to the UK) for millions of Senior citizens.
The transport companies will also benefit by having £millions of extra revenue at little cost to them,
as "spare" / wasted empty vehicle capacity is being used.
It benefits everybody involved.
The government should put the Legislation in place soonest.
