Closed petition Labelling of all meat and meat products – killing method

We the undersigned, petition the Government to pass a law that will enforce the labelling of all meat and meat products offered to the public in any way, shape or form so that the killing method is declared.

The public must have the choice to obtain meat killed by non ritualistic methods that many of us deem cruel, in particular the Halal (Islamic) and Shechita (Jewish) methods where the animal or bird is not stunned before its throat is slit and left to bleed to death.

We have major concerns about the welfare of the animals and birds and want to have meat from animals and birds that have been looked after, and slaughtered in the most humane way possible.
