Closed petition Stop the Death Penalty coming back to the UK
Closed on
Andrew Turner, Conservative MP for the Isle of Wight is calling upon Parliament to have a full debate on re-introducing the Death Penalty into UK Law.
Campaigners who wish for re-introduction of the Penalty require 100,000 signatures to have their ideas debated in the House of Commons.
I would ask you to consider signing this petition to show the Ministry of Justice that their are campaigners who are against re-introduction so that if the debate goes ahead the Government and the Ministry is clear that there are people against, to ensure a fairer debate.
As Amnesty International have stated, the death penalty is "a cruel relic of the past that we should leave in the past". We live in a fairer society where an eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth should no longer apply.
