Too many politicians are elected into government before gaining any experience of the real working world.

A Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree from Cambridge cannot provide a well-rounded understanding of the country’s needs. By leaving university and stepping straight into the political arena many MPs have no first-hand knowledge or experience of the areas they legislate on.

By requiring MPs to have worked outside of politics for a specified time the country would benefit from more qualified empathetic leaders.
