Under Part 3, schedule 12, paragraph 18, subparagraphs 4 and 5 of the Local Government Act 1972 I and many other Cumbernauld citizens want to hold a local referendum, in Cumbernauld. The electorate of Cumbernauld vote turn up to polling stations, on a designated date and would vote either in favour or againist Cumbernauld becoming independent from North Lanarkshire Council
