Rejected petition Compulsory National Service

Create a compulsory national service scheme for anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 who is not either in full time education or employment. This does not, and should not be limited to military service, but to the whole spectrum of society and should include working in hospitals, community initiatives and environmental schemes. A similar scheme has been in place in Germany for many years now and shown proven benefits the whole of society.
