Rejected petition return of national service

This petition is simple - Due to the totally needless riots and looting happening around the country it is US and ONLY US (The taxpayer) who will end up paying for this.
It is about time national service was re-introduced .. . its not just about discipline and fighting i aquired 2 trades as solider as well as learning to stand on my own to feet in a moral and respectful manner. the youth need direction and their hands made less idle for acts of violence and rioting.
Greece has an excellent model for national service which i believe the uk should consider
