Rejected petition Charge people with attempted murder if they stab their victim or kick them in the head

When an assailant has attacked their their victim with a knife (or similar), or has kicked or stamped on their head. Surely they should be charged with attempted murder, not just assault. Stabbing almost anywhere in the body could result in major blood loss, resulting in death. Kicking or stamping on the head can also lead the death by major trauma to the brain.
