This petition was submitted during the 2015–2017 Conservative government

Rejected petition Standardise the word for bread roll across the UK and EU to the word Cob.

There are many words across the country for the humble cob. Barm, Baps, breadcake etc... all are in wide use around the UK. This is confusing and quite obviously wrong.
I propose that the correct word "COB" be made the standard word and made legally enforceable word across the UK and EU.

More details

The word cob originates in the midlands as the when they were freshly baked they resembled the cobbles in the street. As it originates in the midlands it makes sense to spread it to the outer reaches of the UK where the use such stupid words as Barms, Baps, Breadcakes all of which are incorrect.
It is a COB. This should be enshrined in law.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

This isn’t something that the Government or Parliament would be able to do. In particular, the UK Parliament can’t create legislation that applies in the whole of the EU.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
