I'm surprised how many adults have no idea about bank accounts. What it means to be overdrawn, what a mortgage is, what the credit register is. It seems strange to me a child can know the internal workings of a volcano( no use when doing the shopping) but not understand how a credit card works.

I work within a bank and so find myself asking these questions and it shocks me how many people from all walks of life do not have a clue. We all have to have a bank account these days so why do we not teach this in school!
