Rejected petition Ban Non-Stun slaughter

Banning non-stun slaughter in the UK is needed. As proven by many sources, non-stun slaughter does cause unnecessary harm to the animals in question. Despite this evidence, the law which means Halal and Shechita slaughterhouses can non-stun kill the animals still stands.

More details

Non-stun slaughter is inhumane, and causes unnecessary harm, as said by the RSPCA - http://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/farm/slaughter/religiousslaughter

Non-stun slaughter involves the killing of animals, by slitting their throats, while they're both alive and conscious. This must cause an incomprehensible amount of fear and pain, both of which are unnecessary.

Both Muslim and Jewish communities defend the practice, saying no harm is caused, however this is obviously not true.
