Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome (PDA) was first described in the 1980s by Elizabeth Newson. PDA now recognised as being part of the Autistic Spectrum, however this middle range of autism is largely ignored. We need greater awareness, understanding & training for clinicians, teachers,police.
