Closed The UK to introduce a surcharge for recycling of cans and bottles.

Cans and bottles are the most littered items all over the UK. In other countries a surcharge on purchases. Then a refund for returned bottles and cans work effectively to reduce litter.

The surcharge would be charged on each purchase of a can or bottle at the point of sale. The cans and bottles can then be exchanged for a refund at collection centres, such as supermarkets.

This works in reducing litter all over the world in countries like Germany and Canada.
