Petition A referendum to decide upon the National Anthem of the United Kingdom
The National Anthem of the United Kingdom has never been decided upon by the people of the United Kingdom or act of Parliament, as an expression of patriotism and national solidarity there is nothing which unites a nation in the same way, therefore a referendum should be held to decide upon it.
More details
A proposal would be for the country to decide between three songs/hymns often cited as possible anthems with a fourth option of retaining the current anthem, in alphabetical order the options would be as follows:
God save the Queen/King
I vow to thee my country
Jerusalem
Rule Britannia
This petition would call upon Parliament to legislate to provide for a referendum to be held on this issue at some point this Parliament.
