I have been in my grandson's life since he was born now because of a family fall out with his parents they have stopped me seeing him. I used to see him on a regular basis and it breaks my heart to think he must wonder why i don't see him anymore. He is age 5.
In most cases grandparents can add value to a child's life and give them a link to the past. Stopping children seeing their grandparents is abuse according to the Duluth Wheel of Power, Abuse of Children in section 'Isolation' - 'Controlling access to peers/ adults/ siblings/ other parent/ grandparents' http://www.theduluthmodel.org/cms/files/Abuse%20of%20Children.pdf
