Closed petition Education Secretary to complete a u-turn on proposed new tests for 7 year-olds.

Closed on

The Education Secretary is proposing new 'robust and rigorous' tests for 7 year-olds. Her reason is to tackle under-achievement. This is counter-intuitive and the real need is to return the teaching labour force to realistic levels by creating an environment where people want to teach as a career.

There is significant evidence against testing as a method. Here is some.
