This petition was submitted during the 2015–2017 Conservative government

Rejected petition FOR THE IMMEDIATE REPATRIATION OF MR. NNAMDI KANU BACK TO BRITAIN.

Mr. Nnamdi Kanu , a British citizen was kidnapped by the tyrannical government of Nigeria since the 14th of October 2015 and has since been incarcerated and tortured. Till date the Foreign and Common wealth office has done nothing to secure his release. Mr Kanu is a self -determination activist.

More details

The bail conditions have since been met however the Directorate of State Security in Nigeria (DSS) has refused to adhere to the court’s order. It is very clear that the Nigeria government does not obey the rule of law and therefore continue to keep Mr Kanu Incarcerated and we are concerned for his life.
We are therefore petitioning the House to request for the immediate repatriation of Mr Kanu back to Britain as he is a British citizen and He resides here in the United Kingdom with his family.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The UK Government cannot control the actions of the Government of Nigeria.

You could start a petition calling on the Government to offer consular assistance to Mr Kanu.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
