Closed petition Make December 28th 'National Lemmy Day' in UK

Closed on

Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister was one of the most influential musicians and people of our country and of many generations. His passing has shocked the world, and we should acknowledge his life and accomplishments with an annual National Lemmy Day on December 28th.

Lemmy was born in Stoke-on-Trent and grew up in North Wales. He became influenced by rock and roll and the early Beatles, which led to him playing in several rock groups in the 1960s. He later became a roadie to Jimi Hendrix, before joining the rock band Hawkwind, singing lead on their hit "Silver Machine". After Hawkwind, he founded Motörhead as lead singer, bassist, songwriter. He continued to record and tour regularly with Motörhead until his death in December 2015.
