Petition Use NO public money on a Garden Bridge folly for London, use for social housing
The government intends to spend £30M on a Garden Bridge folly for London. This would be better spend on helping the homeless or shoring up flood defences in worst hit areas. This will be a private bridge with no public right of way, run by a private company.

Amendment to petition
We would like to inform you that this petition has been amended. This is because the original £60m figure quoted as Government funding includes a £30m grant provided by Transport for London.
Transport for London is accountable to the London Assembly, not to Parliament. We cannot accept petitions which are about things that the UK Government or Parliament are not responsible for. The amount quoted as Government funding has therefore been changed to £30m.
We only change petitions once they have been signed if they don't meet the Petition Standards or to make factual corrections.
